Mark Cusick
Mark Cusick has almost 35 years of experience as a business lawyer and counselor and 20 years of management experience in the global expansion of a major law firm. Mr. Cusick became a partner in Squire, Sanders & Dempsey in 1984 and was appointed the Coordinator of the International Practice in 1989. He opened Squire Sanders’ London Office in 1992 and led the Firm’s expansion in Europe, from a five-lawyer office in Brussels in 1990 to nine offices and more than 180 lawyers today; and he spearheaded the Firm’s expansion into Hong Kong and Taipei in 1998. Mr. Cusick retired from Squire Sanders at the end of 2008.
Mr. Cusick has significant experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, having represented American, European, Middle Eastern and Japanese clients in acquisitions, dispositions, financings and joint ventures in the United States, Western and Central Europe, Asia and the Middle East. His practice focused on complex, multi-level joint ventures and private equity investments. From 1996 until 2003 Mr. Cusick represented Cable Partners Europe (formerly Callahan Associates International) in cable telephone joint ventures in Spain, France, Germany and Belgium aggregating US$10 billion in enterprise value. From 2005 to 2008 he focused on the Middle East, advising clients in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Qatar and Algeria on multi-billion dollar investments won through competitive tenders.
Mr. Cusick served as Senior Vice President- Development and General Counsel for Cable Partners Europe from 2000 to 2003. From 1995 to 2000, he was the Corporate Secretary of Ferro Corporation, an NYSE-listed specialty chemicals company with global operations.
